Oatmeal Cookie Recipe

From Great Aunt Theresa, my Great-Grandmother's sister...

Ingredients:
3 cups oatmeal (fine)
1⁄2 cup sugar
1⁄3 cup butter
1⁄3 cup lard
1⁄2 tea-spoon salt
1⁄2 tea-spoon soda

Directions:
Mix ingredients together and make thick with white flour.  Pre-heat the oven to 375°F. Grease cookie sheets if not non-stick. Roll the dough into balls, and place 2 inches apart on cookie sheets.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes in preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool  a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to completely cool.

Makes 36-60 cookies, depending on the size you make them.
