Peanut Butter Cookie Recipe

From Aunt Patty...

Ingredients:
1 cup shortening
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup firmly packed brown
1⁄2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 unbeaten eggs
1-1⁄2 cups sifted all purpose flour
1 teaspoon soda
1⁄2 cup chopped blanched salted peanuts 

Directions:
Combine shortening, peanut butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, salt, vanilla, and 2 unbeaten eggs; beat thoroughly.

Sift together flour and soda; add to the above mixture and blend. Add peanuts and mix.

Measure out level tablespoons of dough on greased baking sheets and press with fork.

Bake in moderately slow oven (325°F) 15-20 minutes. Makes 6 dozen.
